Privacy policy for the current development version

Reviewed October 28, 2026. This policy describes Shot Relay version 0.1 in development. The app has not been publicly released.

Who provides the app

Shot Relay is developed by Brendon Frick, trading as Frick’s Productions, in British Columbia, Canada. Privacy questions can be sent to fricksproductions@telus.net.

Event information on your device

The app stores events, dates, time zones, notes, run sheets, shot lists, equipment, templates, reminder settings, editing drafts and Undo history in local app storage. It uses this information to organize plans, show progress, schedule reminders and prepare exports. It keeps a previous valid save for recovery.

This version does not require an app account and does not automatically send these records to Frick’s Productions. It has no advertising SDK, developer analytics service or app-operated cloud synchronization. Event names and notes may contain personal information; enter only what you need and review exports before sharing them.

Optional camera guidance

Scene Assistant requests camera permission when you choose Use camera. It processes preview frames in memory to estimate brightness and white balance. It does not save image or video files, record microphone audio or upload camera frames. Readings and calibration results are temporary screen-session information.

You can use the demo without camera access, pause the camera in Scene Assistant, and change permission in iOS Settings. The implementation requests capture shutdown when the screen closes or the app becomes inactive; device and interruption testing is still in progress. System timing information is used to limit frame sampling.

Optional local reminders

When you enable reminders, the app asks iOS for notification permission and schedules local alerts. Their text is generic: it does not include event names, notes, sounds, badges or attachments. iOS controls their display, including lock-screen previews. This feature does not register the device with a Frick’s Productions push server.

You can turn reminders off for an event in the app or disable notification permission in iOS Settings. Planning and checklists remain available with reminders off.

Exports, retention and deletion

Saving an export creates a PDF or plain-text copy at the Files destination you choose. A cloud-backed destination may synchronize the file. The app does not automatically send your plan to a recipient and cannot recall copies you later share.

Local state has no automatic expiry. Undo keeps up to 30 earlier event states, and the previous valid save may also contain older information. Removing an item from the current plan does not immediately erase every historical copy.

You can remove local app data using the device’s Delete App control. Offloading keeps its documents and data. Exported files outside the app, recipients’ copies, device backups and support correspondence are separate; manage them with the relevant recipient or service. Apple and any backup or storage provider you choose handle their services under their own policies and your settings.

Support, website visits and privacy requests

If you email fricksproductions@telus.net, we receive your email address and whatever information or attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond and investigate reported issues. Please do not send passwords, payment details or unnecessary personal information.

The existing website and support privacy policy explains support email processing, including TELUS, and Cloudflare’s processing of requests to this website. The same email address accepts requests for access, correction or deletion of support correspondence. Information may need to be retained or disclosed where legally required. The app does not give us remote access to your local event records.
